Pray 4 Me Introduction

I had been inspired to write this poem shortly after I first arrived to prison and attended a church service. I felt the unity of everyone around me in that service just as well as I felt their pain. However, everyone in service that day all had something in common: peace. They believed that through prayer and worship they can be at peace and that their prayers will be answered, and that experience manifested something within me. From that moment then, I’ve believed that God will get me out of this situation I’m in, and that there is power through prayer so please pray 4 me.

Pray 4 Me

Pray 4 me I need your faith,

I’m in the belly of the beast I was the food that it ate.

Rehabilitation I think not,

just a whole lot of time and a small steel cot.

Pray 4 me I need your belief,

cause even though I can’t touch it I know my freedom’s in arms reach.

I keep trying to grab it, but it’s very elusive

Shouldn’t of took it for granted I was very abusive.

Pray 4 me I need your hope,

It’s the only way to loosen up the hangman’s rope.

I’ve been striving for justice and thirsting for change,

In the middle of a humid desert circled in chains.

Pray 4 me I need your support,

because there’s too many demons when you enter the courts.

It’s a fight to the death, a non physical blood sport,

just pray that the enemy doesn’t tear me apart.

Pray 4 me
