Dear Readers, Maybe if my brother would have been exposed to such information like this, he might not be in the situation he's in now. Who knows? However, if this info can save any of you who are taking the time out to read this letter and check out the website today, then this website has served it's purpose either way. On June 27, 2007 my brother was accused of commiting armrobbery and was later arrested and detained for the charge. In addition to my brother’s arrest, there were three other suspects that had been arrested and detained earlier for the same armed robbery. According to the police report that was made from two of the accused suspects’ statements, my brother was considered to be the initiator of the armed robbery he was being allegedly accused with. However, when we were finally able to view the statements we found that both statements given by the accused suspects were fabricated and contradicted one another. However, although the two statements were false the the victims’ statements were somehow still valued as creditable information and all four of the victims statements were disregarded. All four of the victims stated that they knew the man who robbed them and picked him out of a school year book. They were sure that the man they picked was the one who robbed them, and they even knew the suspect’s name. However, Lafayette police refused to use the victims’ statements and instead decided to follow through with the two accused suspects’ statements. Why did the LaFayette police decide to exchange what creditable information they had from all four victims that were sure of who the suspect was, for two fabricated statements that were concocted by two accused suspects? Furthermore, no evidence was found in my brother’s apartment, but evidence linking to the armed robbery was found on the other two suspects that were willing to give statements. All three suspects were given 3 years in jail and my brother was given Life in prison with the possibility of getting a parole hearing in 30 years. We, the family of and friends LeTroy D. Waiters, understand and believe in justice and equality. Therefore if we knew Troy was guilty of this crime then it would only be fair for him to have to pay back the pain he inflicted on the people that were victimized. When the news about my brother’s incarceration was released to us, it caught us all by surprise, considering that my brother relocated from San Diego to Georgia to start a foundation he’s been planning to build for him and his daughter. Troy was also close to Atlanta where he’d intentionally been planning to move, attend college, seek better employment, and equal opportunity. After Troy was given life in prison he filed for an appeal, and has since then been back to court earlier this year. He has received a sentence changed from life in prison to 20 years confinement with 10 years parole. However, he still hasn't been granted what belongs to him; his freedom, and the real criminal is still out there roaming free because he hasn't been judged, while my brother is suffering and still fighting this inequitable case that he has dishonestly been found guilty for. None of the four victims’ statements were used to issue a warrent for my brother’s arrest nor were they used at any of my brother’s court hearings. There was no evidence found in my brother’s apartment, no evidence provided at any of my brother’s court hearings or at his trial. In addition, the third suspect that didn't give a statement after he was found guilty openly admitted that my brother was not guilty, and stated: “I can’t do this anymore, I can’t lie! Troy didn’t have anything to do with this robbery.” When we heard about this information we did all we could to ge Troy's transcript so that we can get a recording of the confession that was made, but we were told that we wnat be able to get the transcripts until the following year. Which we didn't get the transcripts until mt brothers appeal in March 2009. And when we got my transcripts the we decovered that the suspect's statement hadn't been recorded. This has been the most complicated and unbelievable situation we've ever been in as a family. Therefore, we are asking for help and support for my brother. My brother needs help, and we’re doing all we can as a family to help but we are now aware of the fact that this family trial depends on more then just family support. My brother is living in an unsafe environment where his life is constantly in jeopardy, and now he’s recently been moved to a prison with high risk criminals. My brother hasn’t even been to jail nor has an adult criminal history or record, but yet he’s been incarcerated, and force to fight for his freedom. They’re trying so hard to make him out to be this ideal violent criminal but are unsuccessful in doing so. My brother is a loving person who wanted a promising stable life for his daughter's and him, and the opportunity to develop into the strong man he’s conditioning to be. Unfortunately, what he was in pursuit of ended up turning into a disaster. Our prayers and this letter is the only hope my brother has. Please help us find someone who can take my brother’s case and help him get a fair trial. Help us with any advice, support or any information you have, so that we can restore back my brother life, reunite him with his daughter and family, and direct him back to his pursuit of happiness. To whom this letter may concern,Thank you for letting us present this CRY for HELP letter. We appreciate all who decide to take the time out to read this letter and agree to assist us with help or any helpful information that can be of any use for my brother.
